What this policy covers
Kingston Insights Smart Notebook is a personal notebook application operated by Kingston Insights ("we", "us") at kingstonmark.com. This policy explains what information we collect, how it is used, and the choices you have — including for the optional SMS ("Text your notebook") feature.
Information we collect
- Account information — your email address and name, used to sign you in and identify your notebook.
- Your content — notes, tasks, and workspaces you create. Your content belongs to you and is only used to provide the service.
- Mobile phone number (optional) — if you enable the SMS feature, we store the phone number you verify so we can match your text messages to your notebook and, if you opt in, send you reminder texts.
- SMS messages — texts you send to your notebook's number are saved as notes in your account.
How we use your information
- To provide the notebook service: storing, organizing, and searching your notes and tasks.
- To power optional AI features: note text may be processed by an AI service to detect tasks and dates. Sensitive details (such as ID numbers, card numbers, and passwords) are redacted on our server before any AI processing.
- To operate the SMS feature: verifying your number, saving texted notes, and — only if you keep reminders enabled — sending you a short daily reminder text about high-priority tasks.
SMS terms and your choices
- The SMS feature is entirely optional and off until you verify your phone number yourself.
- Message frequency varies based on your use; reminder texts are at most one per day.
- Message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile carrier plan.
- Reply STOP at any time to stop receiving reminder texts, or turn them off in Settings. Reply START to resume. Reply HELP for help.
- You can unlink your phone number at any time in Settings, which deletes it from your account.
Mobile information and consent
No mobile information will be shared with third parties/affiliates for marketing/promotional purposes. All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.
What we never do
- We do not sell your personal information or your content.
- We do not use your notes to advertise to you.
- We do not share your mobile number, opt-in data, or messaging consent with third parties/affiliates for marketing/promotional purposes.
Service providers
We rely on a small number of service providers to operate: cloud hosting and database services, an authentication provider for sign-in, a messaging provider (Twilio) to deliver and receive SMS, and an AI provider for optional task detection. Each receives only the minimum information needed to perform its function.
Data retention and deletion
Your content is kept for as long as your account is active. You can delete notes and tasks at any time, unlink your phone number in Settings, and clear the AI's learned preferences from the Settings page. To delete your account and all associated data, contact us using the app.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we will update this page. Continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
